Bob Carey has extensive experience in environmental conservation and strategic partnerships, currently serving as the Interim Columbia Basin Program Manager at The Nature Conservancy since August 1998. In this role, Bob manages cross-chapter collaboration to establish a unified Columbia Basin Program, emphasizing Indigenous-led salmon recovery and clean energy initiatives. Previous positions include Director of Strategic Partnerships, where Bob focused on building relationships with agencies to advance high-impact projects, such as the Puget Sound Floodplains by Design initiative. Additional roles at The Nature Conservancy involved strategic planning for the Colombia program and directing watershed conservation efforts in the Skagit River region. Bob's early career includes positions with the Peace Corps, U.S. Forest Service, and National Park Service, complemented by a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies/Political Science from Western Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rutgers University.
