Erik van Eyndhoven

Erik van Eyndhoven is an accomplished conservation professional with extensive experience in biodiversity management and strategic leadership. Currently, Erik serves as the Director of Conservation at The Nature Conservancy, having previously held roles as Associate Director of Conservation and Conservation Programme Manager within the organization. Prior experience includes serving as Principal Adviser Conservation at the Ministry for Primary Industries in New Zealand, where Erik focused on enhancing the national biosecurity system to safeguard conservation values. Additionally, Erik has acted as Director of Threats at the Department of Conservation, leading teams in managing biodiversity threats. Earlier career highlights include working as a Senior Ecologist at Boffa Miskell, specializing in ecological surveys, invasive species management, and environmental impact assessments. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Ecology and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Botany/Plant Biology and Forestry Science from the University of Canterbury.
