Island Conservation Strategy Lead, Palmyra Program at The Nature Conservancy

Katie Franklin has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental conservation. Katie is currently working at The Nature Conservancy as the Island Conservation Strategy Lead for the Palmyra Program since December 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Science Manager for the Palmyra Program from February 2020 to February 2023. Before joining The Nature Conservancy, Katie worked at Townscape, Inc. as an Environmental Planner from July 2015 to February 2020. Katie also had experience at The Research Corporation of the University of Hawai'i, where they served as part of the Oahu Army Natural Resources Program from July 2008 to August 2014. Additionally, they worked as a Biological Technician at the Yellowstone Ecological Research Center for a brief period in June 2005.

Katie Franklin has a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from Lewis & Clark College, which they obtained from 2001 to 2005. Katie later pursued a Master of Science - MS in Natural Resources Management and Policy at the University of Hawaii at Manoa between 2013 and 2015.
