Mayra Flores Tavares

Mayra Flores Tavares is an experienced environmental professional with a diverse background in forestry restoration and environmental management. Currently serving as a Research Fellow at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation since January 2022, Mayra has previously held positions at The Nature Conservancy as a Forestry Restoration Specialist and at the Associação Ambientalista Copaíba as both Coordinator and Technician in Forestry Restoration. Additional experience includes work as an Agronomist with the Cooperativa de Produtores Rurais do Circuito das Águas and as an Environmental Department Advisor at the Serviço Autônomo de Água e Esgotos. Mayra's early career featured research internships at the University of Guelph and various organizations, including involvement in agroecological projects and forestry development. Mayra holds a Master's degree in Forest Resources and a degree in Agronomy from the Universidade de São Paulo, as well as a postgraduate specialization in Environmental Management from Technische Universität Dresden.
