Paula Caballero is a distinguished environmental leader currently serving as Regional Managing Director for Latin America at The Nature Conservancy since November 2021. Prior experience includes the role of Managing Director for the Lands for Life Program at Rare, where Paula developed an innovative program to promote climate-smart practices among smallholder farmers. As Global Director of the Climate Program at the World Resources Institute, Paula advanced global growth models and mitigation strategies. At the World Bank, Paula oversaw a significant environmental portfolio exceeding USD 7 billion and was instrumental in launching a new Global Practice. Paula's earlier tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia involved formulating climate policy and leading negotiations for the Sustainable Development Goals, while as Regional Technical Advisor at UNDP, Paula managed a substantial portfolio focused on integrated resource management. Paula holds a Master's in International Relations from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a Bachelor's degree from Brown University.
