Jorge Viso

Jorge Viso has an extensive career in maritime and pilot training, currently serving as President of the American Pilots' Association since January 2017 and holding the title of Fellow of the Nautical Institute since 2013. Previous roles include Vice President of the South Atlantic Region for the American Pilots' Association from 2013 to 2016, Harbor Pilot at the Tampa Bay Pilots Association, and various instructor positions at the Maritime Pilots' Institute and MITAGS from 2009 to 2016. Jorge Viso also contributed as a Pilot Commissioner for the Board of Pilot Commissioners from 2010 to 2013 and began a maritime career as a Deck Officer with Exxon Shipping Co. after graduating with a BS in Nautical Science from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1985. Early education was completed at Christopher Columbus High School.
