Paul Drouin is a seasoned marine professional with extensive experience in marine accident investigation and safety. Currently serving as Principal at SafeShip.ca since August 2007, Drouin provides expertise in accident contributing factors analysis and risk assessment. As Academic Course Director for the Marine Accident Investigation Distance Diploma at Lloyd's Maritime Academy since March 2018, Drouin oversees educational programs. Additionally, serving as Captain of the ASD trailing suction dredge Ocean Traverse Nord since August 2013, Drouin has played a pivotal role in marine operations in Eastern Canada. Drouin has also contributed as MARS editor for The Nautical Institute since 2013, focusing on accident and incident report publication. Previous positions include Captain at IT International Telecom, Inspector and Examiner at Transport Canada, and Marine Accident Investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. Drouin began a distinguished career with the Canadian Coast Guard, culminating in roles as Master and Marine Superintendent. Drouin's educational background includes a degree in Nautical Sciences from the Canadian Coast Guard College.
