Stephen Window has a diverse work experience in various maritime and training roles. Stephen is currently serving as the Head of the NI Academy at The Nautical Institute. Previously, they worked as a Training Strategist at the UK Ministry of Defence and was responsible for overseeing learning and development activities. Stephen also held positions such as Executive Support Officer and Assault Navigation Instructor in the Royal Navy. Furthermore, they have experience in academia, completing a Ph.D. in human error in the maritime domain and working as a Senior Lecturer at Warsash Maritime Academy. Stephen has also been actively involved in industry organizations such as THE CHIRP CHARITABLE TRUST and the UK Chamber of Shipping, where they served as a panel member and helped redefine roles and improve bridge resource management. Overall, Stephen has demonstrated expertise in leadership, management, and training within the maritime sector.

Stephen Window has a diverse and extensive education history. Stephen attended Finchley Catholic High School from 1975 to 1982, where they completed their high school education.

In 2010, Stephen enrolled at The Open University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Leadership and Management in 2013. During this time, they also completed a Certificate in Education (Cert Ed) at the University of Portsmouth from 2010 to 2012.

In 2012, Stephen pursued further education at the University of Portsmouth and earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Leadership and Management in 2013. Additionally, they completed the Advanced Command and Staff Course (Reserves) at the Joint Services Command and Staff College in 2012.

Continuing their education, Stephen obtained a Certificate of Higher Education (Certificate of HE) in Social Sciences from The Open University in 2015. Stephen also completed the CMI Level 8 Certificate in Strategic Direction and Leadership from Alliance Manchester Business School in the same year.

Stephen further enhanced their skills by completing the Advanced Management Achievement Course in Strategic Direction and Leadership at Alliance Manchester Business School in 2015.

Alongside their formal education, Stephen obtained several certifications, including a Leadership Coaching and Mentoring Development Programme at In Professional Development (InPD), an Understanding Risk from a Human Element Perspective course at The Nautical Institute, and a Level 6 award in Leading Diversity and Inclusion from the Chartered Management Institute.
