Steven Gosling MSc AFNI has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Steven has held various roles in different companies. Starting in 1997, they worked as an RYA Senior Sailing Instructor (p/t) at Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre until 2001. From 2000 to 2011, they worked as a Deck Officer at Carnival UK. In 2011, they joined The Nautical Institute as a Training & Quality Manager, where they stayed until 2015. From 2014 to 2016, they also served as a Visiting Lecturer at City University London. Steven then worked as the Head of Strategic Development at Nautilus International from 2015 to 2017. Following that, they worked as the Quality Assurance Manager at Videotel from 2017 to 2020. From 2020 to 2021, they were the Quality Assurance Manager for Training and Content and subsequently became the Global Manager of Courses & Certification at Ocean Technologies Group until 2023. Currently, they are the Head of Information and Publications at The Nautical Institute, starting in June 2023.

Steven Gosling MSc AFNI completed their education in various fields related to maritime operations and management. Steven obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Maritime Operations & Management from City, University of London, from the year 2008 to 2013. Additionally, they pursued a Master (Unlimited) UK Certificate of Competency (CoC) from Blackpool and The Fylde College in the year 2010. Prior to that, they completed a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nautical Science from Solent University between 2001 and 2007.
