Patricia van Echtelt is an accomplished sociologist with extensive experience in research and academic roles. Currently serving as a bestuurslid at Nederlandse Sociologische Vereniging since December 2022, van Echtelt has also been a wetenschappelijk medewerker at the Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau since 2007. Additional roles include redactielid for Tijdschrift voor Arbeidsvraagstukken, and previous positions at Wetenschappelijke Raad voor het Regeringsbeleid and Raad voor Werk en Inkomen. With a strong educational background, van Echtelt earned a doctorate at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and a master's degree in sociology from Utrecht University. Further training includes participation in the Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis and Collection.
