Zainab Mehdi

Zainab Mehdi is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in research and editorial roles, currently serving as a News & Features Associate Editor at The New Arab since April 2024. Previously, Zainab held the position of Research Analyst at Trilateral Research, contributing to the EU-funded COVINFORM project, and at COAR Global, where Zainab led deliverables for an EU agriculture initiative. Zainab's experience also includes serving as a Research Assistant at the Middle East Centre of the London School of Economics, where Zainab supported a project on water governance. Additional roles include an Editorial Intern position at Thearabweekly and a Research and Communications Intern experience at the British Red Cross focused on gender-based violence protections for migrant women. Zainab's educational credentials include an MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS University of London and a BA in Modern History and International Relations from the University of Essex, enhanced by a year at the University of Konstanz studying Politics and Public Administration.
