Andrea Kalyn

Andrea Kalyn was appointed as New England Conservatory's 17th and first female president in August 2018, starting her tenure in January 2019. Andrea's deep commitment to music excellence, her strong relationship with faculty, and her profound sense of responsibility for music education as a force in the world results in a very distinctive leadership profile. Furthermore, her experience and personal mission align very well with NEC’s values, as the conservatory reimagines its future. Andrea leads a talented and dedicated Senior Leadership Team in all aspects of the institution's operations and works closely with the Board of Trustees to create and implement a vision for NEC in effectively fulfilling its mission.
