Wingyun Mak

Wingyun Mak has a diverse work experience in the field of research and academia. From 2019 to the present, Wingyun served as the Interim Associate Director of Research at The New Jewish Home, where their responsibilities are not clearly defined. Prior to that, from 2019 to 2022, they held the role of Senior Research Scientist at the same organization. In 2022, Wingyun started working as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. They also worked as a Research Affiliate at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from 2019 onwards. From 2012 to 2019, Wingyun held the position of Assistant Professor at the City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College, where they taught courses in psychology and aging and conducted quantitative and qualitative research studies. Additionally, Wingyun worked as an NRSA Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Rochester Medical Center from 2009 to 2012, focusing on psychosocial interventions for older adults.

Wingyun Mak holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology-Aging and Development from Washington University in St. Louis. Wingyun also has a Master's degree in Psychology-Aging and Development from the same institution. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor's degree from UCLA, majoring in Psychology, English, and Gerontology. Additionally, Wingyun Mak has a certification in Problem Solving Therapy (PST) from Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
