Ximena Diaz-Varas

Ximena Diaz-Varas currently serves as the Assistant to the Bishop of the New England and New York Annual Conference since January 2025, following a long tenure at the New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church where roles included Assistant to the Bishop and Conference Director of Certified Lay Ministries. Previous pastoral experience includes positions at First UMC of Torrington and St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, along with work as a Chaplain at Griffin Hospital providing support to patients. Additionally, Ximena has served as Co Lay Leader for the NYAC Connecticut District and held roles as a Certified Lay Minister. Ximena Diaz-Varas holds a degree in Computer Science from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
