Michael Morrell

Michael Morrell has extensive experience in real estate investments and financial auditing. Currently serving as Manager of Global Real Estate Investments & Commercial Lending at the NYS Teachers' Retirement System since 2003, Michael oversees the Real Estate Portfolio Management and Servicing team, focusing on the management of directly owned properties and investments in real estate funds. Prior roles at the NYS Teachers' Retirement System include Assistant Manager for Real Estate Asset Management and Investment Information, where responsibilities included supervising investment operations and ensuring proper management of securities. Michael's earlier career includes positions at the NYS Office of the State Comptroller, where duties ranged from supervising internal audits to conducting financial audits of state agencies. Michael holds a BBA in Accounting from Siena College, completed in 1990.
