Jolin Cheng has worked in the media industry since 2003. In 2003, they worked as an Assistant Film Editor for Leader Asia Pacific Creativity Center (LAPCC). From 2004 to 2011, they worked for ATONA Inc. as a Documentary Filmmaker, where their responsibilities included discussing scripts with clients, researching, directing, shooting footage, interviewing, and delivering the final look according to clients' needs. Jolin was also responsible for capturing rushes, outlining rushes, working with still images to make them usable in video quality, converting source videos of different formats, and making DVD and DVD menu. From 2011 to 2016, they were a Video Editor for O&C Entertainment. From 2016 to present, they have been the Head of Programming, Senior Video Journalist, and Video Journalist for The News Lens 關鍵評論網.
Jolin Cheng obtained a Master's Degree in TV/Video Production from Emerson College between 2000 and 2002. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Shih Hsin University between 1995 and 1999. In addition, they have obtained certifications in Sacador de Fuego (jewellery making) from El Taller Escuela de Joyería Barcelona in July 2014, Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from the World Chinese Language Association in July 2008, and Teaching English as a Second Language from the Boston Academy of English in November 2002.
