The News Literacy Project
Jocelyn B. has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Learning Experience Designer, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leader, and Teacher at Mason City Schools since July 2008. In addition, Jocelyn B. is a News Literacy Ambassador for the News Literacy Project, starting in August 2022. Previous experience includes a month-long position as an ESL Instructor at Westar Education in Shanghai, China, and volunteering with the Peace Corps from 2002 to 2004. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Ohio University, along with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Miami University.
The News Literacy Project
The News Literacy Project empowers educators to teach students the skills they need to be smart, active consumers of news and other information and engaged, informed participants in civic life. It also provides people of all ages with tools and resources that enable them to identify credible information and know what to trust, share and act on.
