Sheila Solomon is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in journalism and nonprofit management. Currently serving as President of the Board of Directors for Journalism Funding Partners, Solomon supports local news organizations in their mission to inform communities. Additional roles include advising at Bay City News Inc., membership on the advisory board of The Obsidian Collection Archives, and serving on the Board of Directors for City Bureau, a civic journalism lab. With over forty years in the industry, Solomon also works as an independent recruiter and diversity consultant, guiding new graduates in media careers. Education includes a B.A. in Mass Media Arts from Hampton University.

The News Literacy Project empowers educators to teach students the skills they need to be smart, active consumers of news and other information and engaged, informed participants in civic life. It also provides people of all ages with tools and resources that enable them to identify credible information and know what to trust, share and act on.
