Andrea Melendez

Andrea Melendez is an experienced photojournalist and multimedia specialist, currently working as a Staff Photojournalist at WGCU Public Media since October 2022, and has been part of the Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK since June 1998. Melendez also holds a position as a Staff Photographer/Multimedia Specialist with The News-Press Media Group since April 2015. Previous roles include Staff Photographer/Multimedia Specialist at The Des Moines Register from November 2000 to April 2015, and Staff Photojournalist at the Democrat and Chronicle from June 1998 to November 2000. Andrea Melendez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Journalism from Iowa State University between 1993 and 1998.
