Helen Hunter has extensive work experience in the healthcare and advocacy sectors. Helen currently serves as the Assistant Director of Engagement - North West at NHS Confederation, where they develop relationships with NHS organizations, provides support and guidance, and facilitates collaboration. Prior to this, they held the role of Chief Executive at Healthwatch Kirklees and Healthwatch Calderdale. Helen also worked as a Director at Healthwatch Calderdale and a Project Coordinator at Healthwatch Kirklees. Helen has experience as an Advocate at Rethink Mental Illness and as an Information Service Project Worker at Healthy Minds Calderdale. Helen has also held managerial positions at Advice Extra and Change4Life Information Shop, Calderdale Citizens Advice Bureau. Earlier in their career, Helen worked as a Community Health Improvement Adviser at Change 4 Life Information Shop, Calderdale Citizens Advice Bureau and as a Night Project Support Worker at Home Group.
Helen Hunter pursued their education at the University of York from 2020 to 2022, where they earned a Master's degree in Public Policy and Management. Prior to that, they attended Sheffield Hallam University from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
