Guy Currey

Guy Currey currently serves as the Head of Inward Investment for The North East Combined Authority, leading efforts to attract jobs and investment to North East England since May 2024. Prior to this role, Currey was the Director of Invest North East England from September 2014 to May 2024, focusing on attracting inward investment across the region. Currey has also held significant positions at Newcastle City Council, managing major energy retrofit programs and regeneration projects, as well as serving as Economic Development and Regeneration Manager at South Tyneside Council, where key regeneration schemes were implemented. Additional experience includes planning roles at Northamptonshire County Council and marketing management positions at Foundation. Guy Currey holds a Master’s Degree in Civic Design from the University of Liverpool and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from the University of Nottingham.
