Selene Garcia

Selene Garcia currently serves as a New Generation Board Member at La Casa Norte, a position held since October 2023. In addition, Selene has extensive experience at the Illinois Department of Human Services, working as a Public Service Administrator and previously as an IDHS Caseworker since September 2013, focusing on caseload management and state program review and eligibility. From September 2010 to September 2013, Selene contributed as an AmeriCorps Member at Erie Neighborhood House, which emphasizes high-quality early childhood education for low-income children. Selene holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from DePaul University and has completed undergraduate credits in Sociology at Harvard University.
