Deanna Seaman

Senior Manager, Environmental Water Quality at The Northwest Seaport Alliance

Deanna Seaman has extensive work experience in environmental and regulatory affairs. Deanna started their career as an Environmental Program Specialist at Norcal Waste Systems, Inc. in 1992 and then became a Compliance Program Manager, where they interpreted regulations, performed audits, and revitalized the authorization process for a solid waste processing facility. Deanna later joined Norcal Waste Systems, Inc. again as an Environmental Manager, overseeing the corporate-wide vision and environmental compliance program.

In 1997, Deanna became the Interim Administrator for NAHMMA, an international non-profit association focused on reducing hazardous materials. Deanna provided oversight and managed day-to-day operations, including program management and fundraising.

From 1999 to 2000, Deanna worked as a Support Services Administrator for the State of Delaware, where they researched and wrote budgets and reports related to hazardous substances control.

In 2001, Deanna became the Household Hazardous Waste Program Manager at PSC, where they successfully grew and managed the program.

From 2002 to 2006, Deanna worked as a Senior Planner and Project Manager at the Snohomish County Solid Waste Management Division, where they developed environmental programs and managed projects.

Deanna then joined the Snohomish County Public Works Department in 2007, first as a Project Specialist and later as a Senior Program Manager. In this role, Deanna managed environmental programs and provided disaster response and cleanup efforts for major incidents, such as the SR 530 Mudslide and Landslide.

From 2015 to 2016, Deanna worked at WISErg Corporation as a Regulatory Affairs Manager and Sustainability Manager. Deanna designed and operated a regulatory affairs and sustainability group and ensured compliance with regulations.

In 2016, Deanna joined The Northwest Seaport Alliance as a Senior Manager, Environmental Water Quality, where they currently work.

Deanna Seaman has a diverse education history. Deanna started their academic journey in 1979 at St. Vincent's High School, where they obtained an Academic Diploma in General Education in 1983. Deanna then proceeded to the University of California, Berkeley, from 1984 to 1987, completing a Certificate in Hazardous Materials Management. Continuing their education, Deanna pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Technical Writing at San Francisco State University, graduating in 1989.

In addition to their formal education, Deanna obtained a certification in Hazardous Materials Management from the UC Berkeley Extension Corporate and Professional Programs in May 1992.
