Sara K.

Sara K. has extensive work experience in the field of risk management. Sara currently holds the position of Risk Manager at both the Port of Tacoma and The Northwest Seaport Alliance. Previously, they worked at the City of Seattle as the Deputy Director of Operations for Claims Management and Risk Management from January 2021 to July 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Risk & Claims Manager at the Port of Seattle for 15 years. In this role, they provided high-quality and cost-effective claims and risk management services to minimize loss exposures. Sara also worked at the City of Tacoma as an Industrial Insurance & Claims Technician, where they managed and administered the City's self-insured workers' compensation program and handled police liability claims.

Sara K. has an Executive Master of Business Administration (E-MBA) degree from the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Puget Sound. Sara also holds additional certifications, including a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from The Institutes CPCU Society, obtained in September 2019, and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) from The Institutes, obtained in May 2013.
