Carmen MacDougall

Senior Vice President at Nuclear Threat Initiative

Carmen MacDougall has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Starting in 1985, they worked as an Account Executive at The Kamber Group. Carmen then moved on to Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where they served as Vice President and Director of Strategic Planning from 1989 to 1994. Following that, they joined the Department of Energy as the DAS for Communications until 1998. From 1998 to 2005, Carmen held the position of Vice President for Communications at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. In 2005, they became a Communications Consultant-Writer as a self-employed professional before transitioning to the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, George Mason University, where they served as Vice Chair of the Advisory Board from 2005 to 2009. Carmen then joined the Commission on the Prevention of WMD Proliferation and Terrorism as the Communications Director from 2009 to 2010. Carmen also worked at The Harbour Group as a Sr. Counselor from 2007 to 2010. Their most recent role is with Nuclear Threat Initiative, where they started as Vice President of Communications in 2010 and is currently serving as the Senior Vice President.

Carmen MacDougall attended Amherst College from 1981 to 1985 without earning a degree. Additionally, they attended The University of Edinburgh from 1983 to 1984, but no degree or field of study information was provided.
