The Oaks Academy
Abby Emmert currently serves as the Lead Teacher at The Oaks Academy, a position held since August 2016. Previously, Abby worked as an English Teaching Assistant at DePauw University from August 2011 to August 2016, where responsibilities included developing lesson plans and providing individual support to students in an English Immersion Institute. In addition, Abby was a Writing Tutor in the Academic Resource Center, aiding students with their writing needs. Earlier experience includes managing the Summer Swim Program and coaching the summer swim team at Western Boone High School in 2012, as well as teaching swimming to young children at the same institution from 2007 to 2011. Abby obtained a Master of Education in Language and Literacy from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2016 and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from DePauw University in 2014.
