Andriarimina Daniel Rakotonirina, PhD, currently serves as a Computational Modelling Specialist at The Ocean Cleanup, focusing on building Digital Twins of ocean cleanup systems and plastic marine debris trackers since March 2020. Concurrently, Andriarimina is the founder of Zina Farm, dedicated to combining ancestral knowledge with modern technologies to enhance soil health, ecosystem resilience, and productivity. Past roles include co-founding iChtus Tour Madagascar, a tour operator, and working as a consultant/researcher at Deltares on groundwater and surface water software. Andriarimina's academic and research background includes a postdoctoral position at The University of British Columbia, where numerical simulations of multiphase flow were explored, and a PhD at École normale supérieure de Lyon, with a focus on fluid mechanics and computational multiphase flow.
