Barbara Benton, CAE has a vast amount of experience in government relations and legislative affairs. Barbara began their career as a Legislative Aide in the Ohio Senate in 1980 and worked there until 1987. In 1987, Benton joined the Ohio Society of CPAs and became the Vice President of Government Relations. In this role, they led the organization's government relations programs at both the state and federal levels, including strategic direction, lobbying, grassroots efforts, and administration of the political action committee. Benton's work experience demonstrates their expertise in navigating the legislative landscape and advocating for the interests of CPAs and affiliated professionals.
Barbara Benton, CAE obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Otterbein University. Barbara also holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) certification from the American Society of Association Executives, which was obtained in 2003.
