James Birch

James Birch has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. James is currently the Chief Operating Officer at The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the General Manager at Faubourg Brewery from January 2019 to February 2022.

In the past, James held roles at Catawba Brewing Company, where they served as the VP of Operations from January 2018 to November 2018, and as the Director of Sales from October 2015 to December 2017.

Before their career in the brewery industry, James worked at Moody's Investors Service, where they held multiple positions, including Senior Vice President from January 2014 to July 2015, Vice President - Global Operations from January 2012 to January 2014, Vice President - PMO in 2011, and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis from November 2005 to December 2010.

Their earlier experience includes working as a Business Analyst at Coty Inc. from November 2003 to November 2005 and at Liz Claiborne from June 2002 to November 2003.

James Birch attended The Lawrenceville School from an unknown start year to 1998. James then went on to earn their BA in Economics from the University of Richmond, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In the year 2000 to 2001, James attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as part of their General Course, with a focus on Managerial Economics. Finally, they pursued their MBA in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Columbia Business School, studying from 2009 to 2011.
