Loek Vredenberg

Distinguished Chief/lead IT Architect at The Open Group

Loek Vredenberg has a diverse work experience in the IT industry. Loek started their career as a Programmer/Analyst at IBM Netherlands in 1985 and then worked as a Pre-Sales Technical Consultant at IBM SAP International Competence Center from 1994 to 1996. Loek continued their career at IBM Norge as an IT Architect and IT Consultant from 1996 to 1999. Then, they joined MAS Norge AS as a Personal Manager for the SAP Basis team from 1998 to 2000. Loek worked at Innovation Services as an Executive IT Architect and Lead Architect from 1999 to 2000. Loek also has a long history with IBM Global Services, where they served as a Senior IT Architect from 2001 to 2007 and a Member of the Nordic Technical Experts Council from 2007 to present. Additionally, they had various roles at IBM Norway, including IT Architect Profession Leader from 2006 to 2012 and IBM Norway CTO from 2014 to present. Loek also held the position of a Distinguished Chief/Lead IT Architect at The Open Group starting from 2009. Lastly, they were a Member of the Nordic TEC from 2002 to 2005 and served as the IT Architect Profession Leader for IBM Norway and Nordic TEC Member at Nordic TEC from 2007 to 2010.

Loek Vredenberg completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Economy and Information Technology from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences. This degree was obtained between 1982 and 1985. In addition to their formal education, Loek Vredenberg has obtained several certifications, including "IBM Quantum Conversations" from IBM in November 2020, "IBM Consulting Profession Certification - Experienced" from IBM in September 2020, "Architect Profession Certification - Level 3 Thought Leader" from IBM in November 2016, and "IBM Certified Solution Advisor - Cloud Computing Architecture V5" from IBM in September 2016.
