Cari Schwerd currently serves as the Financial Controller at The Oregon Clinic, a position held since August 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant Controller and Senior SDI Risk Manager at Hoffman Construction Company from May 2020 to August 2022, and academic positions at Concordia University-Portland, where Cari was an Associate and Assistant Professor of Accounting from July 2014 to April 2020, as well as an Adjunct Accounting Instructor at Portland State University from 2015 to 2020. Further teaching experience includes being an Accounting Instructor at Portland Community College from 2013 to 2014. Previous positions also include Senior Financial Accountant for Budget & Analysis at CareOregon, Portfolio Accountant at Elliott Associates, Inc., and Audit Associate at KPMG US. Cari holds a Master of Accounting from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, in Accounting from Oklahoma Baptist University. Currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration at Grenoble Ecole de Management.
