Jay Sloan

Senior Project Director (Government, Community, & International Applications) at The Pacific Institute

Jay Sloan has had significant work experience in the field of government and intelligence. Jay began their career in 1984 at the Defense Intelligence Agency, where they held several key roles including Director for Policy Support, Director for Estimates, and Defense Intelligence Officer for East Asia & Pacific. In 1998, they joined The Pacific Institute as a Senior Project Director, where they focused on government, community, and international applications.

Jay Sloan completed their college preparatory education at Clifton High School from 1959 to 1962, earning an Advanced High School Diploma. Jay then attended The George Washington University from 1962 to 1966 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs. In 1966, they briefly studied Asian Studies at Seton Hall University before earning a Certificate in Chinese Mandarin from Middlebury College. From 1980 to 1984, Jay pursued postgraduate studies at The George Washington University, completing a Master of Philosophy degree in International Relations. Additionally, they attended the Federal Executive Institute in 1980, although the specific degree and field of study for this experience were not provided.
