Amy Friedman

Amy Friedman is an Executive Editor at Out of the Woods Press and Interim Program Manager at The Pathfinder Network. With extensive experience in editing and writing, Amy has been a member and contributor to the Los Angeles Editors & Writers Group since 2015. As a writing teacher at UCLA Extension since 2002, Amy has focused on memoir and personal essay instruction. Amy's work as a board member for ACLU SoCal and co-founder of POPS the Club reflects a commitment to social justice, particularly in supporting youth affected by incarceration. A former newspaper columnist for Universal Press Syndicate, Amy's acclaimed "Tell Me a Story" column led to several published books and audiobooks. Academically, Amy holds multiple master's degrees in Creative Writing and an undergraduate degree in English/Creative Writing from Barnard College.
