Charleen Caabay has a diverse work experience. Charleen started their career in tech as an IT Support Specialist at Genentech from 2010 to 2012. Following their passion for cooking, they became a self-taught chef and opened two successful restaurants in Oakland, starting with Kainbigan Restaurant as a Co-Owner from 2013 to 2017, and then Craft and Spoon Restaurant as a Co-Owner from 2017 to 2018. In 2016, they co-founded The People's Ecosystem and served as the Chief Innovation Officer, where they introduced innovative culinary concepts. In 2020, they became a Founding Member of The People's Group, an organization focused on investing in BIPOC and women-led cannabis businesses. In 2021, they founded The People's DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization. Overall, Charleen Caabay has a strong background in both tech and culinary industries, with a special interest in promoting equity and diversity.

Charleen Caabay obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Systems Analysis from DeVry University, where they studied from 2001 to 2004.
