Ira Fuchs has extensive experience in leadership roles within various organizations, including serving as a Board Trustee for The Seeing Eye and a Director for The Philadelphia Contributionship since 2019 and 2007, respectively. Previous positions include Director at Ithaka from 1994 to 2022, Director and Treasurer at Princeton Public Library from 2004 to 2012, and Executive Director for Next Generation Learning Challenges at EDUCAUSE from 2010 to 2012. Ira Fuchs earned a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Columbia Engineering, completing studies from 1965 to 1976.

The Philadelphia Contributionship
In 1752, Benjamin Franklin joined a group of prominent citizens to establish what is now the oldest successful property and casualty insurance company in the country. He named the company The Philadelphia Contributionship for the Insurance of Houses from Loss by Fire. The "hand-in-hand" fire mark is our historic symbol. An emblem of security, it appeared originally on houses that were insured by The Contributionship, and it signified our firm commitment to "protecting homes and the well-being of people who live in them."
