Geraldine Gibbia

Co-Founder & Executive Director at The Phoenix Center

Geraldine Gibbia has been working in the field of speech and hearing for over 40 years. Geraldine started their career as a speech-language specialist in the Special Services School District of Bergen County in 1975. Geraldine then went on to work as an instructor and director of speech and hearing clinics at William Paterson College from 1985 to 1990. In 1981, they became a consultant for the Bergenfield Public School District, and then in 1979, they became an instructor at New York University. Geraldine has been the executive director of The Phoenix Center since 1990.

Geraldine Gibbia completed their undergraduate degree at Marymount Manhattan College, where they earned a B.A. Summa Cum Laude. Geraldine then went on to complete their Master of Philosophy and Ph.D.-Speech and Hearing Science at the City University of New York. Finally, they completed their M.A. Speech Pathology at Queens College.
