Speech Language Pathologist/Case Manager/Augmentative Technology Specialist at The Phoenix Center

Mali DeSantis has worked in the field of speech language pathology since 2006. Mali began their career as a Speech Pathologist at the Therapeutic School and Preschool, providing speech and language therapy for children aged 3 to 15 with a variety of disabilities. In 2000, they worked as a News Desk Assistant at ABC News, maintaining daily relations and production within a high-pressure national newsroom. Mali then moved to NBC News in 2001 as a News/Production Associate and in 2004 as a Researcher and Music Librarian. In 2006, they became an Owner/Speech Language Pathologist at Therapeutic Services LLC, a private practice in the Northern New Jersey area. Mali also worked as a Speech Language Pathologist/Case Manager/Augmentative Technology Specialist at The Phoenix Center from 2008 to 2013. In 2013, they became a Speech Language Pathologist/Co-Coordinator at Social Sensory Connections, a program of iCan Consultants LLC. In 2019, they opened their own practice, Second Nature Speech.

Mali DeSantis obtained a B.A. in Journalism & Media Studies from Rutgers University between 1997 and 2000. Mali then went on to obtain an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from Kean University between 2004 and 2006. Additionally, DeSantis obtained a Certificate of Clinical Competence CCC-SLP from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in August 2007, and New Jersey State Licensure for Speech Language Specialist from the State of New Jersey Department of Education in September 2006.
