Jamillia Kamara Covington

Jamillia Kamara Covington currently serves as a Senior Program Officer for Education at The Pittsburgh Foundation, where work focuses on addressing economic injustices and transforming systems to benefit impacted communities. Covington is also the Principal Consultant at JINC & CO, LLC, a firm dedicated to connecting underestimated individuals. As an Ambassador for One Young World, Covington represents Pittsburgh in a global network of young leaders. Recent engagement includes participation in a Social Cohesion Study Tour with the American Council on Germany and a fellowship with ABFE, aimed at strengthening philanthropic leadership for Black communities. Covington has held various roles in education and nonprofit management, including as a Program Manager at Public Allies and an Elementary School Teacher, achieving notable student success in literacy and math. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in progress at Duquesne University, a Master's in Elementary Education, and a Bachelor's in Urban Studies.
