Casey Dreier

Chief Of Space Policy at The Planetary Society

Casey Dreier has had an extensive career in space policy and advocacy. Starting in 2005, Dreier worked as a Research Assistant at the Arecibo Observatory and later at the Monterey Institute for Research in Astronomy. In these roles, Dreier contributed to the development of solar atmosphere models and assisted in managing research programs.

In 2006, Dreier transitioned to web development, working as the Lead Web Developer at AWP (Ancient Wisdom Productions Inc.) and later as a Web Application Developer at the Cornell Hotel School. In these positions, Dreier utilized PHP and Javascript frameworks to create and maintain websites and software tools.

In 2010, Dreier shifted gears again, becoming a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer at Singlebrook Technology, Inc. During this time, Dreier focused on developing Ruby on Rails applications.

In 2012, Dreier joined The Planetary Society as an Advocacy and Outreach Strategist and quickly moved up through the ranks, serving as Director of Space Policy and Chief Advocate & Senior Space Policy Adviser. In these positions, Dreier was responsible for developing and executing political and policy strategies, engaging with legislators and policymakers, and empowering members to participate in the advocacy process.

In 2018, Dreier also took on an instructional role at Western Washington University, where they developed and taught a senior seminar course on space exploration.
