Mission Outreach Volunteer at The Planetary Society

Max King is an experienced aerospace engineer currently serving as a Safety & Mission Assurance Engineer at the Canadian Space Agency since February 2024. With a solid background in spacecraft design and analysis, Max has held various roles including MTS Mechanical Engineer at MDA and Student Space Systems Engineer at Space Flight Laboratory - UTIAS. Max is also a Mission Outreach Volunteer for The Planetary Society, managing communications for the LightSail 2 mission and engaging with the public on space exploration topics. Earlier experience as a Research Engineer at the German Aerospace Center involved developing zero-gravity simulation systems and conducting collaborative research with NASA and ESA. Max holds a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Alberta.
