Giles Pettifor

Giles Pettifor is an experienced environmental manager with a robust background in sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as the Environmental Manager at The Port of Hueneme since August 2017, Pettifor oversees the implementation of the Port's Environmental Management Framework and Green Marine Certification, while ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental regulations. Prior experience includes roles as Project Scientist II at Larry Walker Associates, where guidance was provided to over 20 client cities and counties on water-related programs, and as Project/Program Manager III at King County, managing compliance efforts for the NPDES Municipal Stormwater Permit Program. Additional roles at Triton Environmental, AECom, and Questa Engineering contributed to a comprehensive understanding of water quality management, including project management in coastal structure design, stormwater management, and water quality analysis. Pettifor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Claremont McKenna College and a Master of Environmental Science & Management from UC Santa Barbara, complemented by studies at The University of Edinburgh.
