Doyle Powell has a long and successful career in the media, marketing, and event sponsorship sales industries. Doyle began their career in 1979 as Assistant Men Basketball Coach at Auburn University. In 1980, they moved to Auburn University at Montgomery as Assistant Registrar & Enrollment Strategist, where they were responsible for the institution's quarterly class registration process and final transcript evaluation and approval for pending graduates. In 1984, they joined The Longshore Media Development Group, owned by Spencer Longshore III, as Vice President, where they solicited and secured media programs and sponsorship agreements for a stable of leading outdoor companies. In 1988, they founded two companies: OnTarget Strategies, a solution to mid-size companies in the fishing industry needing the vision and expertise of a marketing agency, and The Cattle Connection Media Network, a compilation of official state cattle association magazines and select regional publications serving cattle ranchers and producers. Finally, in 1989, they founded The Powell Group, Inc., one of the nation's leading national media brokerage and event sponsorship sales firms.
Doyle Powell attended Auburn University from 1979 to 1980, where they obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration. Doyle also attended Auburn University at Montgomery from 1975 to 1979, where they obtained a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching. In September 2022, Powell obtained a certification in Learning Wix from LinkedIn.
