Maria's background also includes operations and design oversight in web development at Greenwich Bay Webworks Inc. and fiscal management of Cultural Survival, an indigenous rights organization. Educational credentials include a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston College and participation in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. Maria is also a certified Master Gardener and a graduate of several leadership and language immersion programs.

The Providence Flea is an award-winning, weekly community market established in Providence, RI, in 2013. The market is held year-round on Sundays and select Friday nights, featuring 80+ local artists, artisans, makers, bakers, farmers, food purveyors, community nonprofits and live music. Indoors at Farm Fresh RI Market market hall, February - May and October - December. Outdoors at 275 South Water Street, June - September.
