Gareth Dennis

Chair, Yorkshire Section at The PWI

Gareth Dennis is an experienced professional in the railway engineering sector, currently serving as Vice Chair of the Yorkshire section of The PWI since January 2021 and as a Co-Founder of the Campaign for Level Boarding since November 2019. As Director at E2M - Ethical Engineering for Mobility since September 2014, Gareth has also held senior roles including UK professional head of track at SYSTRA UK & Ireland from December 2023 to August 2024, and Senior Permanent Way Engineer at Arcadis from October 2016 to August 2023, focusing on design leadership and permanent way projects. Previous experience includes positions as a Sessional Lecturer in Railway Infrastructure at the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education and the National College for High Speed Rail, Secretary of the York section of the Permanent Way Institution, and various engineering roles at Atkins and other organizations, involving significant contributions to major railway projects. Gareth holds a Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering with Construction Management from The University of Edinburgh.
