Darlena Chadwick

Darlena Chadwick, MBA, MSN, FACHE is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Queen’s Health System.

In this role, Ms. Chadwick serves as a member of the Executive Team for The Queen’s Health System and as the senior executive overseeing the operations of QMC-West Oʻahu. Because QMC-West Oʻahu serves the largest Native Hawaiian community in the state, a key aspect of her role includes working in tandem with the Queen’s Native Hawaiian Health Program and other stakeholder organizations to develop programs and services to improve the health and well-being of Native Hawaiians.

Ms. Chadwick joined The Queen’s Health System in 2005 and most recently served as its Vice President of Patient Care. She began her tenure as The Queen’s Medical Center’s Vice President of Patient Care for Oncology, Women’s Health and Professional Services with Neuroscience and Pharmacy coming under her purview soon after. While in that position, Ms. Chadwick also served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Hawaiʻi Cancer Consortium for the University of Hawaiʻi Cancer Center.

Before joining Queen’s, Ms. Chadwick was the Executive Director for the Oncology Service Line at Hawaiʻi Pacific Health. Prior to that position, she worked at Kuakini Health System, starting as an oncology nurse and later holding the positions of nursing supervisor, manager of endoscopy (GI Lab), and managing director of diagnostic and treatment services.

An active community leader, Ms. Chadwick currently serves as a board member for St. Andrew’s Schools (Board Chair), Hawaiʻi Homeless Healthcare Hui (H4), Queen’s Development Corporation, Hamamatsu/Queen’s Medical Center Management Committee, and the American College of Healthcare Executives (Past President). Previously, she served on the boards of the Hawaiʻi Children’s Cancer Foundation (remaining as Advisory Director), the Kumulani Association (Treasurer), Legacy of Life – Hawaiʻi , and Susan G. Komen (past Treasurer and remaining as Advisory Director).

She holds memberships in numerous professional organizations including the Hawaiʻi Society of Clinical Oncology, Association of Cancer Executives, State of Hawaiʻi Cancer Steering Committee, and the Association of Nursing Leaders to name only a few.

Ms. Chadwick received her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare from California Coastal University, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina, and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. Prior to moving to Hawaiʻi , she spent 11½ years on active duty in the Air Force and nine years in the Air Force Reserves.
