Mark Wasielewski

President, Diagnostic Laboratory Service at The Queen's Medical Center

Mark Wasielewski is the President of Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS), a position he has held since July 2018. He began his career with DLS in 2002 and has worked in a variety of positions including DLS Coordinator at The Queen’s Medical Center’s Punchbowl location, Central Core Laboratory Manager, Marketing Manager, and Senior Vice President of Technical Operations.

During his tenure at DLS, Mr. Wasielewski’s major accomplishments include being a lead team member involved with creating an original laboratory within a 74-day deadline at South Bend Memorial Hospital and leading a DLS team to build a hospital laboratory for North Hawai‘i Community Hospital in an accelerated timeframe.

Mark Wasielewski began his laboratory career at the age of 16, working as a laboratory aide and phlebotomist until he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he received laboratory technician training. After his service in the Air Force, Mr. Wasielewski returned home to Chicago and continued to work in laboratories at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, holding various technical and management positions. During that time, he also earned a bachelor’s degree, double majoring in economics and management with a concentration in international business. After his move to Hawaii, Mr. Wasielewski obtained his master’s degree in clinical laboratory sciences from Rutgers University.
