Professional Experience
Ian joined The R&A in April 2024, where he is responsible for maintaining and optimising the organisation’s IT infrastructure. His role involves ensuring network security, managing enterprise systems, and supporting IT operations to keep critical operations running smoothly.
Prior to this, he spent over two years at Outplay Entertainment Ltd, a Dundee-based game development company. Starting as an Information Technology Assistant, he quickly advanced to Junior IT Support Specialist and later IT Support Specialist. In these roles, Ian provided technical support, managed IT assets, and worked on network administration, security, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced gaming environment.
Education & Certifications
Ian holds a BSc (Hons) in Cyber Security and Network Management from Robert Gordon University, where he graduated with a 2:1 and was awarded Best Honours Project in Networks or Security. He also earned a Higher National Diploma in Computing: Networking from Dundee and Angus College, achieving an A-grade.
