Karen Bloemen

Karen Bloemen is an experienced professional in the field of process improvement and energy transition, currently serving as Coördinator Energietransitie for Regio Gooi en Vechtstreek since June 2023. Previously, Karen was a Procesadviseur at Gemeente Gooise Meren from January 2016 to June 2023, applying Lean tools to enhance team effectiveness and drive continuous process improvement. Prior to that role, Karen worked at Gemeente Bussum in various positions including Procesadviseur/Verbetercoach Lean and Coördinator Beleid en Bedrijfsvoering, focusing on communication and project management during municipal restructuring. Earlier career experiences include serving as Beleidsadviseur Gezondheidszorg en Ouderen, and as a beleidsmedewerker at the Ministerie van VWS, which laid the groundwork for a strong foundation in public policy. Educational qualifications include an Ir degree in Levensmiddelentechnologie from Wageningen University & Research and previous studies at Elshof College.
