Shane Capps

Shane Capps currently serves as the Philanthropy Officer at The Relatives, where responsibilities include managing the annual fund and connecting philanthropists with the mission of providing relief and empowerment to youth facing hardships. Prior to this role, Shane held various positions at Charlotte Lab School, including Director of Partnerships and Development, where efforts focused on creating an inclusive and engaging educational environment, and Lab EXPLORE Coordinator, aimed at helping students explore career and college interests through experiential learning. Shane's experience also includes teaching social studies at the 8th-grade level and serving as Lead Teacher and Practicum Program Coordinator at Community School of Davidson. Additionally, Shane worked as a Public Health Educator for the Peace Corps and held a role with the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer in health promotion and wellness. Shane holds a BS in Public Health, a BSPH in Health Policy & Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a RALC-MA in Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
