Lilia Teresa Escobar

Lilia Teresa Escobar serves as the Capacity Building Program Manager at The Resurrection Project, focusing on establishing a fellowship for non-attorney immigrant legal service providers. Prior experience includes roles as Community Engagement Manager and Neighborhood Services Coordinator for the City of Chicago’s 33rd Ward Alderman's Office, and as the LGBT Project Pro Bono Coordinator at the National Immigrant Justice Center, where Lilia ensured access to legal counsel for low-income LGBT immigrants and asylum seekers. Academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology/Anthropology, and Race and Ethnic Studies from St. Olaf College. Lilia’s diverse experiences extend to internships in social work, communications, and research.
